I take a little from colfriendships, the list little from column B. Fun is my primary goal with games, and when I initially start, I mainly focus on enjoying the game at a casual level.
If the game piques my interest at a level beyond casual play, I'll delve into the mechanics at a common and complex level. If there is interest beyond casual play, the means of attaining fun is altered. It becomes fun to outclass an opponent with raw skill and mind games as opposed to just button mashing and mindlessly running around.
Being challenged by somebody in any form; whether it be intellectually, physically, technically, or otherwise is a phenomenal experience. It offers an opportunity to prove one's mettle, earn respect, develop friendships, the list is huge.

ReplyDeleteSelf expression. Kinda like playing an instrument or skateboarding, you get good cause you wanna do cool stuff.
